VI Meeting of Eastern and Slavic Letters

Rebellions, Revolutions and Transformations

By means of the I International Congress of Eastern and Slavic Studies at UFRJ and the VI Meeting of Eastern and Slavic Letters, The Department of Eastern and Slavic Letters of the Faculdade de Letras at UFRJ intends to make known the teaching and research activities of students and professors.

The I International Congress of Eastern and Slavic Studies at UFRJ / VI Meeting of Eastern and Slavic Letters are a medium of open discussion, voicing of ideas and reflections, from a perspective of the Human Sciences, of issues involving multiple aspects, challenges, dilemmas, and (why not?) discrepancies of social, cultural, political and economic contacts between the East and the West in the past and presently. There will be discussion tables and panels, with professors, graduate and undergraduate students and guests.

• Arabic language, literature and culture
• Hebrew (and Jewish) language and literature and Jewish culture
• Japanese language, literature and culture
• Russian (and Slavic) language, literature and culture

Main Theme: Rebellions, Revolutions and Transformations

Related themes: historical, social, cultural, religious and other rebellions, revolutions and changes and their effect on the Eastern/Slavic languages, literatures and cultures.
